Blog 363 - Lake Padden Reopens After Frosty December/January; North Bellingham Set for BallBuster

Lake Padden GC reopened Thursday, following more than six weeks of snow and below-average temperatures. Saturday December 3rd was the last day the course was open in 2016, the temperature plummeting to 32 degrees that night and, on the night of December 17th, falling to just 14 degrees. "It has been awfully quiet around here," said Josh Fish, Head Professional at the course. "But we're back open, and will be playing the Kulshan Brewing Winter Tour's 2-Man Scramble (a Winter Tour Major) this Saturday." Be there for the 9am shotgun.

nbgc ballbusterNorth Bellingham GC has leaked a sneak peak at what golfers will face for the Cross Country Ballbuster on Saturday February 4th. The 6,666-yard, par 72 layout will take golfers on a fun, but unfamilar, journey around the course, the round starting with a 495-yard par 5 that begins from the actual 1st tee and heads west to the 8th green, and finishing with a 153-yarder that plays to the actual 9th green from a tee hard by the clubhouse.
There are a number of exciting holes on the card, but none more eye-popping than the 911-yard par 6 10th that plays from the actual 10th tee to the 16th green. The format is four-man teams playing a scramble, with a 10am shotgun start.
